Abstract: | Expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) are genomic locations associated with changes of expression levels of certain genes. One justification for studying eQTL is that transcript abundance may act as an intermediate phenotype between genomic sequence variation and more complex whole-body phenotypes. In this talk we will first briefly review the concepts and methods in eQTL studies. Then we will discuss the Bayesian Partition (BP) models in particular. The BP model will simultaneously partition gene clusters and genetic marker into modules that may carry functional significance, while taking care of the epistasis and pleiotropic effects and LD structure of the genetic markers. Finally we’ll discuss possible modifications to the BP model to serve the purpose of neuro-imaging studies. Shanghai Center |
